And the winner is...

I'm awarding two prizes for March–June - I've bundled all the entries together. The winners are, firstly, Fabian Acker for his hilarious account of how to annoy a Frenchman drinking aperitifs on his yacht, and, secondly, Rob Nelson for his eye-opening account of travelling in Mao's China.

Both Fabian and Rob win the Bradt guide of their choice. And remember, even if you didn't win a guide this time, you can buy any Bradt guide at a 20% discount via its website. And please, do keep on entering. I genuinely love reading these stories of other people's travel experiences, so keep them coming.

The next deadline is the last day of August.

The rules

The idea behind the competition is this: people are always emailing me with lurid tales of their travel experiences, and frankly some of them are more extraordinary, hilarious and outright offbeat than anything I've ever dared do. So I've thrown down the gauntlet. Email me at polly@pollyevans.com and tell me the tale of your funniest, quirkiest, otherwise most extraordinary travel experience. Entries should be less than 500 words (or even shorter - 200 words would be fine or, if you're really good, a single cracking sentence). Each month I'll select the best and post it here on this site. And that's not all. Thanks to those brilliant folk at Bradt, the author of the best piece each month will be rewarded with the Bradt Guide of their choice.
